Anime first attracted me with its brazen
ideas, often fired straight from the imagination with little regard for realism.
I loved that! I don't really have a preferred genre, although I seem to be veering
towards shoujo as time goes on. I like to keep up to date with the newest shows,
but I'm also fascinated by older titles and how the medium has progressed over
the years. Strong female characters are always a plus, as is good music. I appreciate
good animation as much as the next guy but don't consider it that important in
the long run. I do like anime that makes me laugh and really enjoy super-deformity
in all but the most inappropriate circumstances... it never seems to get old and
anime just wouldn't be the same without it.
Besides
anime I've been into role-playing games (of the pen-and-paper variety) for nearly
two decades and also dabble in PC and console gaming. I'm trying to start a manga
collection but it's not easy when it has to compete with the anime!
