Hi, I'm currently enrolled in High School because tuition fees are brutal currently, so I expect to graduate next year. My first anime film was Ninja Scroll, which I must say, had a huge impact. I still think it is the best entry point into anime thus far produced. I had a bias against TV series a year or so ago, in which case the first series I watched in full was Cowboy Bebop. I must say, I got lucky with those choices.
I tend to like dark, realistic themes over wacky happy fun that appears in anime. I prefer Science Fiction, but Fantasy does not lose marks, except Fantasy generally has an overused plot and feelings of already viewing a series from another. I hate being disappointed in a series, most of all. If a series gives me large expectations, and fails to deliver, then it will receive greater criticism than an average production that keeps its quality level the same.
I am mostly concerned about social justice, which is why I'm a little miffed that we have to watch series in whole to post. If a series is truly horrible, would you want to subjugate that onto the reviewer so they must endure the whole series before reporting on how crappy it is? I guess it's a system to make sure only the most determined review anime, which is in a sense fair. Rather have an articulate point on how a series is poor than a ten word rant.
