2. Fencer Hayato

After playing Arc the Lad Collection, I was eager to watch the anime to see what it would be like. Well, it was disappointing. Not only is the ending incomplete, many cast members were not even shown, such as Diekbeck (well, he was half shown), Gruga, Sania and NONE of Chongara's summons. This was very disappointing for me. But anyways, the story is about Elc and how he escaped from the mysterious "White House". The White House had kidnapped him because he knew how to use the power of the flame. He was saved by the famous Hunter Shu, and later grew up to be a well known Hunter. On one of his jobs, he encounters Lieza and saves her from being kidnapped by strangers. They later continually run away from them, until they meet Arc. In the end I felt the story went too slow, then at half way through, the last 13 episodes were rushed. If you have played the entire game, I'm not sure if you will like it, but those who haven't may find this anime rather enjoyable.

Based on the Playstation RPG Arc the Lad 2, the Arc the Lad anime has to be one of the better game to anime conversions to date. Taking place a fantasy world with sci-fi elements, the story centers around a young bounty hunter named Elk and a mysterious young girl named Lieza who is being chased by an unknown group. In typical RPG fashion the story takes of from this point into a fight to save the world from the forces of darkness. Recommended for fans of RPG games in general, who will get a kick out of seeing a typical epic RPG story in animated form.
