In Tokyo, a monster is feeding off women's livers. Of course he has to rape them first, but after that he chews 'em up and eats their liver so he can live. So you call in the specialist for this sort of thing, and this is where the story begins. By the director of Ninja Scroll, and Wicked City. Ninja Scroll was awesome, Wicked City was terrible, and Bio Hunter seems to fall right in the middle. Sure there is a plot, but it could have been so much better. The action scenes are pretty boring, though there were not a whole lot until the very end. The animation on the main character is good, but everything else is fairly bland. The music is pretty bad too. Every scene is the exact same song. There are a lot better action/horror movies out there, so I recommend you stay clear of this one if at all possible. Go see Perfect Blue or something...

Another title from the director of Ninja Scroll and Wicked City, Bio Hunter is a part of the hyper violent mature anime that was brought to the US during the 90's. The demon virus plot is interesting, and the pacing is well done. Animation (as can be expected of Madhouse) is great. Not a great show, but fun nonetheless for fans of the mature horror genre.
