Crusher Joe, based on novels by Takachiho Haruka, the creator of the Dirty Pair, is an epic, immensely fun space opera in the vein of Star Wars. The first original film from Sunrise, Crusher Joe tells the story of Joe, a "crusher" hired to do dangerous tasks throughout the galaxy and his crew, when they are commissioned to deliver a mysterious cyrogenically preserved woman to a far away planet, only to have her disappear midflight. Eventually, they become dragged into an entire interstellar conflict, full of fantastic action sequences and great character moments. Fans of Dirty Pair or Star Wars should check this out.
