The Dirty Pair OAV series is a set of 10 stand-alone
adventures featuring the Lovely Angels, Kei and Yuri. Each episode runs 30 minutes
and follows a standard formula that sees Kei and Yuri investigate a case for the
World Welfare & Works Association, inadvertently causing chaos every step
of the way.
The OAV series was produced in the late
80s and definitely shows its age, from the animation quality to the music. Despite
that, the character designs of Kei and Yuri and those skimpy outfits remain a
visual treat regardless of what year it is.
The episodes
vary from serious to silly but are well composed, blending elements of action,
science fiction and comedy in each of them. Regardless, you can count on Kei and
Yuri, armed with a vast array of heavy weaponry, leaving their trademark trails
of mayhem and destruction each time out.
The adventures
of Kei and Yuri presented in the OAV series can be a mixed bag. Given the varying
subject matter, the episodes can be hit or miss. Still, it gives Dirty Pair
fans some more opportunities to see the Lovely Angels in action.
