5. Tyrenol

Five cute and zany ladies, plus one normal guy who had just been hired, are what's composed of Kagura Security; a private business dedicated to eliminating the Phantom Cats. Unfortunately it's not that simple. Especially when the company's rivaling with the government's better-equipped HOUNDS Forces, the token mysterious figure, and the separate branches who go against the plans of the Black Cat (yet another token mysterious figure).

The comic book from Central Park Media had been out for a while. But its distribution to the States have ceased due to its lack of popularity. At any rate, the knowledge from this manga is a must; or else you'll write off this 3-part OVA as yet another piece of eye-candy. But still; this is a must-see for anyone who likes a mixture of everything.

4. Cross Scars

This short three episode OAV focuses on one particular mission of the Kagura Total Security firm, a group specializing in the elimination of the phantom cats that are now causing damage through out Japan.

Geobreeders is an entertaining OAV with a fast pace and plenty of guns and girls to keep the average anime fan interested. The over top and silly antics of Kagura are fun to watch through out the three episodes and the slightly odd idea of phantom cats is at least original.

However Geobreeders doesn't have too much else going for it. The fact that it is only three episodes long really seems to hinder the series and compared to some other OAVs of similar length Geobreeders seems a little weak. The pace of the series helps keep the series entertaining but at the same time the plot really seems to have been neglected and certain things are simply unclear or resolved in a very unsatisfactory way. The characters as well are given no time to develop and they end up being very one dimensional which makes the series seem shallow.

Geobreeders is a fun little OAV to watch but its complete lack of depth makes it seem a little unsatisfying.

Geobreeders is a nice little ova series. It's obvious that it's based on a manga as it doesn't have much in the way character introduction, and throws you right into the middle of things. While there is much to explain and not everything is solved, it does feel satisfying, and it does make me eager for more. The art and animation are nice, the girls are cute, and there's a nice amount of fanservice. Some of the girls exhibit annoying traits (business over friendship, and they're not exactly competent) and the show requires some suspension of belief, but overall Geobreeders is fun and enjoyable.

Geobreeders is another title that came out of nowhere to hook me. The story revolves around Kagura, a company that exterminates phantom cats (creatures that have the ability to take on human and cat forms, and can interact with computers). I nice bouncy cast of characters, and an interesting and unique story managed to secure Geobreeders as one of the more used discs in my collection. Highly recommended for comedy anime fans.

1. Jeneki

Having no idea what this title was about the first time I watched it, Geobreeders was a pleasant surprise. The Kagura Total Security company has the job of chasing down phantom cats (sort of like the physical manifestation of a computer virus) and "deleting" them a la Ghostbusters. It's got lots of zany action sequences, fun-filled characters, and most importantly, lots and lots of cat girls/guys! The music fits the action very well, and is quite good. Don't miss this one, it's lots of fun.
