The Phantom Cats are back with a vengeance and
it's up to Kagura Security to save Japan again! The animation
is good, the girls are well drawn, there's a little bit of fanservice,
and plenty of explosions. Unfortunately not enough time is spent
on giving the girls just a tad more character. There's plenty
of potential for interesting character interaction (Taba and Narusawa
seem to have a thing with each other, Maki's battle with an unknown
rival, etc), but it remains a rather shallow action comedy - a
little touch of drama would have gone a long way. But the original
Geobreeders was still lots of fun. Good pacing
between comedy and action made it an enjoyable rollercoaster ride.
The second time around things are a little bit less exciting.
Still worth watching for the characters if you liked the first
OVA, but now I'm more than a little but curious as to whether
the manga provides more meat on its bones.
