I don't believe that just being based off a game is a good
enough reason for something to be bloody horrid anymore. This, to give it more
credit than it deserves, is I assume something of an introduction to the series,
which is currently in production. Hopefully (for those of us who don't yet want
to admit that the anime industry is not entirely made up of Miyazaki's,
Anno's and other respectable people) this was made in the idea that if
it was well received it would then quickly be followed up by a series, amazingly,
it must have been well received.
The animation and
character design is nothing spectacular, I haven't written it off completely though
because I'm not harsh about animation standards in general, if the story makes
up for other lacking qualities then it's okay, and in its own peculiar way this
series does.
The story in these shows is never anything
to make you stop and quietly ponder, it's blatant, moronic, simpleton stuff, which
is why I'm giving it two 1/2 stars, because sometimes people do enjoy sitting
and zoning out for 20 minutes, after which you can go back to reality happily
aware that things can only get better from that moment on.
