2. Cross Scars

This three-part OAV doesn't really seem to do much aside from introduce characters from the TV series of the same name. Chitose is a guy living with several cute girls the spin this time being that they're both his teachers and mothers at the same time. That may sound typical but at least being his Mum Chitose isn't out to score with any of them and vice versa, the romantic interest comes from elsewhere.

This OAV is alright, but hardly anything spectacular given that it doesn't really have much of a point. The characters are all quite fun and some are interesting but that's about it. Some of the jokes are funny but others fall flat and this problem seems all the more strange given the element of self-parody within the series which notes some of the poor jokes.

Nothing really that bad here, but this OAV does seem a little pointless, especially given the TV series has exactly the same first episode.

1. Tempy

Chitose has 5 pretty women living with him, unfortunately they're his teachers and make his life a living hell. But when he sends them away, he realizes he does kinda miss their company. The Happy Lesson OVA seem more of a promo for the TV series which follows it, as it merely functions as an introduction to the characters and not much more. Don't expect high quality art and animation either. In fact, sometimes it gets quite dreadful. The story and characters have been done better elsewhere as well. Sometimes the show can be energetic and fun with Chitose getting abused, some laugh-out-loud moments, and kawaii girlies. And then there are those moments where I just sat there bored and shaking my head. Highly uneven to say the least.
