Hyper Doll only consists of 2 ova episodes so there's
not much of a story. Mew and Mica are apparently from another planet sent to earth
to protect it from all kinds of silly enemies, like a giant cricket (Inagoman),
jellyfish (Kurageman) and earthworm (Mizumuman). Their commander likes to appear
from pizzas muttering "pepo, pepo". There's humor to be had from the
total nonchalance Mew and Mica display, while Akai (the main male character) worries
too much. Though that gets a bit old even in just 2 episodes. Shoko is interesting
as she is a bit jealous of Mew and Mica getting attention from Akai. It seems
likely that she and Akai could get in quite a few embarrassing and romantic situations,
but since only 2 episodes were ever made we'll never find out. Still, if you like
some mindless fun and the occasional fanservice, Hyper Doll will provide
some entertainment.
