Wow, I don't even know where to start on such a brilliant series. Let me start with the story. It revolves around a high school girl named Yoko Nakajima. She's always been the "perfect" student and daughter and overall never really did anything wrong. One day, a mysterious stranger just shows up at her school, pledges allegiance to her, and asks her to come back with him to a far off land. Now this land isn't just far away, it's more like an alternate universe.

I *really* don't want to get into too much detail about the story, because I want everyone to watch this one themselves, but Yoko goes on an incredible journey on both a physical and spiritual level.

The animation level is quite high and the fantasy setting is emmersive and enveloping. You'll feel like you know as much about this other world as you do our own world by the time you are done. You'll be very familiar with the 12 kingdoms and the various unique things and names that inhabit the land.

I could go on and on and on about this series, but I'll leave it at this : If story, characters and creating a fantasy world in your mind are top priorities for you in an anime, this will be one of the best titles you've ever seen. It's worth every cent to purchase this one on DVD, which can't be said for about 80% of all anime out there. Seriously, Juuni Kokki is an epic. 90+ episodes of Kenshin couldn't create a world like the 12 kingdoms. There is nothing else like it out there right now, so go pick it up riiiiiiiight........NOW!  Hurry! GO!
