2. Iodine

Yet another normal high-school boy, named Yusuke here, has a gorgeous otherworldly female literally fall into his lap. This time it's Princess Rouge, a green-haired amnesiac who is supposedly the eldest and most powerful of a trio of sorcerous sisters, but who also naturally winds up being the most passive and vulnerable of the three. The show looks, works, and pretty much is on par with Oh My Goddess, except with a much lousier plot, characters, and writing. Of course there's an evil villain who sends out his minions one at a time in order of fighting ability to kidnap our heroine. Of course Yusuke has intrusive school friends without much discretion. Of course Rouge's sisters insist on moving in with the couple in order to make things more complicated.

The animation and designs for the series are adequate considering the time it was made, though all the battle gear seems to have been swiped from the Slayers crew. Otherwise, it's a fairly average production, with little originality. The OAV was obviously meant to go on longer than its two surviving episodes, so the plot is almost entirely setup. Having the rest of the story might have helped Princess Rouge break away from its formulaic beginning, but as it is, the show remains unfinished and uninteresting.

1. Connor

This story feels very much like a copy of Oh My Goddess, but instead of goddesses, demons (sort of). The story involves Yusuke finding and amnesiac young woman (actually she falls out of the sky on him). The girl, Rouge, is one of three daughters of the King of the Underworld (the Hades style, not criminal type), who has been overthrown in a coup. Her two sisters turn up and live with them. All the while servants of the new King turn up to recapture them. Note there are only 2 episodes for this series. There is no resolution to the story.

The animation is rather good, though Rouge changes a bit between the two episodes. A throw-away line mentions how she changed her hair. The voice acting was also good, note that for the English dub they used the same actors from Oh My Goddess (Keichi and Belldandy) for Yusuke and Rouge. The music was unremarkable but fine.

All in all, this was an enjoyable anime that I have watched several times, and will watch again.
