This is exactly how I wanted the whole Love Hina series
to be, more romance with the occasional laugh here and there. This focuses even
more on both Naru and Keitaro and their love for each other. This was a bit on
the sober side, containing far less funny antics compared to the TV series, which
caused me to enjoy it even more. I never found it entertaining when the story
did not move on because Naru would always punch Keitaro into the sky. This had
been eliminated and I was happy it was. The story is overall typical, but well
done, consider many people could relate to it. Once again though, I feel as though
Love Hina Christmas Special, the other specials and especially the TV series
need a firm ending, at the end you will have the feeling of there should be more.
The Love Hina Christmas Special primarily revolves around
the relationship between Keitaro and Naru. It definitely seems like an extension
of the TV show due to the similarities it has with the later episodes, excluding
the last episode which seemed highly out of place. I enjoyed the Christmas
Special very much but I was expecting a lot more humor and laughs. Even though
a lot of the comedy was missing I was not disappointed and would recommend it
to any Love Hina fan.
The Love Hina Christmas Special takes place after the
events in episode 24, and is 40 minute special episode about the Love Hina
crew at Christmas. The tone of the show is a lot more somber then the majority
of the TV episodes, and I actually found it to be quiet slow at times, though
ultimately enjoyable. As with the later episodes in the TV series the story focuses
mainly on Naru's feelings for Keitaro. Lots of warm fuzzy moments in this one.
