5. Tyrenol

Yet another show suffering from schizophrenia. It has the trouble of deciding between romantic comedy, "magical girl," yaoi bishonen, fan server, and alien-fighting. But somehow it manages to pull itself off with little space for complaints. What other series has a spontaniously fantasizing guy with writing on his face, the leader of a manga club who tortures him with "what nature gave her," and a magical teddy bear?

4. Konoha

Sometimes, it just works wonderfully. The ecchi but good-hearted Takeo; the intelligent and flirty Aburatsubo; the loyal and level-headed Nanaka; the whimsical and flippant Akane; and the endearing Sae who is trying to do her best. This show is funny, fan-servicey, sweet, and tugs at your heartstrings. It only improves on rewatching. One of the best done OAVs I have ever seen. Make sure and check out the TV series too; it follows right after.

Mixing a magical girl show with ample doses of shounen romance and fanservice, Magic User's Club manages to grasp the best of both worlds into a tight little package. The story follows the exploits of a group of magic wielding high school students as the attempt to rid the world of its rather passive alien invaders. With only 6 episodes to go on, Magic User's Club manages to hit all the right points with ample doses of humor, character development, action, and romance. An extremely enjoyable watch that comes highly recommended.

2. Larson

A very nice and somewhat uncommonly themed magic/sci-fi/slapstick comedy mix. Even though this show does not make up for a true classic, it is a far above average pure entertainment title. And every aspect is delicately crafted to serve just this light hearted and so relaxing way of entertainment. Very well choreographed slapstick, extreme wackiness, ultra-cute Bambi-eyed magicians, the usual Japanese ingredient of some romantically irritated characters ... etc. Great entertainment, if you are into Japanese animation you will just love these cute apprentice magicians.

Sae Sawanoguchi is a shy and uncertain girl, and a member of the Magic User's Club at her high school. Magic User's Club basically follows Sae and her journey to gain confidence. The problems she encounters include her romantic feelings towards Takeo the leader of the club, mysterious aliens, and Mizuha, the big-breasted leader of the Manga Club. Magic User's Club successfully mixes cuteness, endearing characters, silliness, romance, fanservice, happy music and good action sequences. There were many times when I went soft at the cuteness, laughed like Naga at the hilarious moments, and blushed nervously when there was a moment of romantic tension. Magic User's Club (AKA Mahou Tsukai Tai) is highly recommended fun. Followed by a TV series which starts immediately after the events in the OVA.
