2. One Classy Bloke

Ah yes, everyone's favorite series has a movie. Sadly, we seen it all before, but it's still good. The main focus of this movie was to refresh memories on the events of the series up to episode 24 to prepare people for the hell that was End of Eva. It also gave a taste of the second movie by including the first 27 minutes of it. While this movie is nothing impressive, it's a handy recap of the whole series if you lack the time to watch it all through again. I recommend you get this on DVD. It's got loads of brillant extras, including a damn funny audio commentary.

1. Hybrid

Death and Rebirth to me is simply a retelling of what has occured in the tv series, that is condensed into a 1 hour timeframe. During this time, we are are given a summary of the characters of show in the following order of Miasto, Asuka, Rei,Yui,Ritsuko,Toji, Kaji and Kaworui. Personally I found Death to be like the episode in Robotech called Gloval's Report, as it felt it was reviewed in that format. After Death ends, there is a five minute intermission before Rebirth plays. Rebirth continues the Eva saga after 24 episodes of the tv series. I personally found the cliffhanger ending of Rebirth quite good, as I'm interested to find out what happens in the End of Evangelion. In all, Death and Rebirth is a good summary of the tv series, with a little bit of new new animation that continues where the tv series left off.
