Beavis and Butthead may have met their match in the
Inachu Ping Pong Club, a collection of the most perverted, demented, and creatively offensive
adolescent males ever assembled. Plus two poor saps who are actually there to play ping pong. Most
episodes are made up of two fifteen-minute shorts, all with approximately the same plot: straightlaced club
president Takeda desperately tries to keep order while the other boys, usually led by the super-delinquents
Maeno and Izawa, execute the deranged scheme of the day. When talking about this series, it's very hard
not to launch into extended warnings about graphic nudity and outrageous sex-themed humor of extremely
questionable taste. The notoriety of this program is certainly not undeserved, but the disclaimers ought to
come with a few disclaimers of their own. The antics of the club members are mostly juvenile silliness, and
involve more embarrassing gross-out humor than anything else. Though they have mean streaks, Maeno
and Izawa are so awful, cowardly, and pathetic, you can't help but pity the poor lunkheads.
The designs look like they were lifted straight from a
cheap manga, and the animation is pretty low end too. Music isn't bad though, and the first opening theme is
a lot of fun. Though it seems like there's a misogynist bent to the writing at first glance, the
show actually features two very decent female characters who get in plenty of their own kicks. And
considering what Takeda and pretty-boy Kinoshita are
regularly subjected to, the girls certainly aren't the
only victims. It's actually nice to see a show that has no qualms about showing the dirty, rotten side of
guys, and an episode or two makes for a good laugh if
you've been overdosing on horribly uplifting romance
or pretentious sci-fi. Too much at once, though, has
a serious warping effect.

I have a lot to say about this series, but I'll be blunt,
this is sick and disturbing, you'll laugh, but from fear. To be honest I can't
remember any of the names but only because it really is entirely insignificant
and pales in importance compared too some of the happenings in this series, so
you'll have to excuse the vague reference to characters. Our bunch of young lads
are in a Ping Pong Club, the captain is probably the only decent character in
the series, all the rest, well they're all completely mad, dirty, sick, freaks,
who are unnaturally creative in their ways to illustrate their personalities which
will make you cringe in terror, one of the more memorable moments was the sea
turtle impersonation, which I won't explain. The animation quality is befitting
for the series, with it being very ugly, the character designs are the same. I
do suggest that people watch this, it will confirm whether you really do have
morbid fascination, plus it's nice to put in contrast to most series, the spectrum
of anime is something amazing, and this'll help you appreciate that more than
ever. |
