I like this series, actually I love it. The story is about
a poor, orphaned young boy who doesn't need anyone or any help for him to pilot
his own starship. At the same time the Afressian's are attacking supply ships,
but one ship of their armada stands out. The red colored ship has a pirates skull
and crossbones marking on it is a blatant offense to the ships of Captain Harlock
and Queen Emeraldas. Needless to say, the smack is laid down as Emeraldas is introduced.
I really like the character of Queen Emeraldas, she is like an omnipresent character...
but is a secondary character to the main plot. The animation was good but some
of the CG was horribly rendered/textured. I hope this series continues on as it
left me wanting to see more of Leji Matsumoto's world.
