Tohru and Asuka were good childhood friends until that fateful
day when Tohru saved Asuka from being hit by a car, but injuring his leg in the
process. Unable to pursue his dream of playing soccer, Tohru becomes depressed
and vents his frustration and anger out on Asuka even though it's clear she loves
him. This premise is a good enough basis for a nice romantic drama, and I'm sure
the original story or script included story elements to further elaborate on this.
However, since we're dealing with only 1 episode, those story elements seems to
have been thrown out the window because Tohru somehow ends up with Asuka anyway
without too much effort. I guess he got better after having sex with another woman
and realizes his true feelings for Asuka.
"Renzu"
means lens, referring to Tohru preferring to view the world through his camera
lens. There are some peeping tom elements and naughty pictures are taken, but
these aspects are so minor and don't have a real bearing to the story itself.
The production values are about average. Asuka and
Mao are attractive though, and since they're in the sex scenes it's forgivable
that the rest of the character designs is rather weak. There are 3 sex scenes,
one being an S&M lesbian one, but it's clear both participants are enjoying
it - it's not mean or excessively degrading. This is very much a non-hardcore
title, it doesn't get more explicit than showing a penis shaft and some "white
gold". Still, this title is pleasant to watch despite the lacking story.
