The "next" installment of Slayers (making bad jokes in a Slayers review? Heaven forbid!) starts off really well. It's got some really funny moments that had me rolling. Eventually the show gets a bit more serious, which is unfortunate because Slayers does comedy much better than it does tension. A few parts get a little too Dragonball Z-ish for my taste, with drawn out fight scenes and magic that blows up half a continent but doesn't hurt anyone. This is one of the only shows I've ever seen where I enjoyed the filler episodes more than the real episodes.

I went into Slayers Next with low expectations. To my surprise though I actually enjoyed Slayers Next. The story was tighter, with more character development and less filler episodes. I particularly enjoyed the 2 newest cast members Xellos and Martina. The story manages to mix a lot of comedy with a bit of drama and romance for nice blend that kept me interested throughout the whole 26 episodes, unlike the first season which had me bored within 2 episodes. A fun show when you're need of some fluffy fantasy comedy.

1. Tempy

You gotta love Lina Inverse and her friends. Even though the plot itself isn't very exciting, it's still a lot of fun to see how they handle the situation. It's just one of those series where you like the characters so much, that you really don't care if they do rehash the same old jokes over and over again.
