The Slayers OAVs are by far the best Slayers out there. If you didn't like the others, this probably won't change your mind, but everyone else enjoy! The first episode involves quite possibly the scariest thing I can imagine. I'm not a Naga fan, but this episode proves that overdoing a bad thing can lead to good results. Moving on, Episode 2 is the funniest thing I have ever seen some out of Slayers, ever. From beginning to end it had me laughing till I hurt. Last (and least), Episode 3 kind of sucked. Don't let that stop you though, because the rest of this series is explosively fun.

The Slayers OVAs where a mixed bag. While they are funny at times, they are utterly boring at other times. Not even Naga's massive melons can save this one from mediocrity. I found myself looking at the clock wondering how much longer I was going to have to endure this. In the end it was a title that will probably sit untouched on my shelf for years to come.

1. Tempy

Slayers - The Book of Spells as released by ADV on DVD actually consists of the two OVA episodes from Slayers Dragon Slave and the single OVA episode Slayers Explosion Array. All 3 episodes are really standard Slayers fare, and if you're a fan of Slayers that's a good thing. The best episode is the memorable first Dragon Slave episode featuring not one, not two, but 11 Nagas! There's just something absolutely frightening about 11 big-breasted, slightly dimwitted Nagas laughing the typical Naga laugh all at the same time.
