Telling the tale of young Ryu in his quest for self-search and opposing the dark Hadou within, Street Fighter Zero (Street Fighter Alpha) is a great anime but it left something to be desired. This movie (originally 2 OVA in Japan) feature Shun, Ryu's brother who came in search for him. The art style is awesome but I did not like the sharp features given to the characters. Still, the fighting scenes are something to be witnessed and the focusing on certain character let the story concentrated unlike the shuffled Street Fighter II. The DVD itself is nice with high quality and 5.1 sound plus the extra lovely features like the making of and cast interview. If you can handle some violence, you've to watch this.

Good video game anime are rare. Thankfully Capcom managed to pull off Street Fighter Alpha nicely. Storywise SF:A is all new ground, dealing with Ryu's growing dark powers, and the sudden appearance of his kid brother. The story focuses mainly on Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Sakura, although Akuma, Zangief, Rolento, Birdie, Dan, Guy, Rose, and Sodom make guest appearances. The animation, while not stellar, is well done and captures the feel of the Alpha series nicely. Highly recommended for fans of the Street Fighter series.
