6. End of Hearts

To Heart is an extremely down to earth show, yet manages to be a great watch. For example, the first episode is literally how the class chooses seats. That is just one of the many scenarios that occur, so if you cannot stand the thought of watching a class go through a lottery system to see where they sit, To Heart is not for you. Throughout the show, the main lead male character, who is lazy yet proves to be a good friend, meets up with a new girl every episode. The show overall is on the lighthearted side, with a great soothing soundtrack. It is one of my favorite soundtracks for any anime. The female characters themselves are very diverse and unique in their own special ways, you cannot help just to fall in love with all of them. Well maybe not with that crazy American accented one. Her voice was annoying as hell. I only wished there was a hint of romance. The romance aspect does not really appear until the end of the series. To Heart is not for everyone, but there are those who will fall in love it.

5. Prep_Styles

Featuring impressive character design and beautiful animation To Heart is a simple story showcasing numerous high school students as they go about there daily lives. Complementing the simplicity of this title is its innocence; unlike many other romantic stories is recent anime history this show features little in the way of sexual connotation or undertones, which is by no means a bad thing. The way I see it there's only two reasons why someone would have grounds to be disappointed by this title, first pacing moves between a steady crawl and a brisk jog requiring patience at times on the part of the audience, and second, given the length of this series and size of its cast there are many characters and plot elements which are left underdeveloped, however all critical elements are completed by the end. If your in the market for a romantic comedy/drama, and are tired of titles that attempt (some more successfully then others) to get a rise out of there audience by exploiting sexual tension, then this is definately a series not to be missed.

4. Olmanek

To Heart is the slow moving story of the relationship between Hiroyuki the male lead, Akari the female lead and various other cute girls. However, unlike such shows as Love Hina, Hiroyuki isn't as unfortunate as his equivalents, there are no sexual undertones to any of the scenes, there are no awkward events which are almost always misinterpreted by a female character and ends up with the poor protagonist being half killed. This anime series is surprisingly slow, with nearly each episode dedicated to simple tasks and the characters going about basic daily life, but such is the beauty of the series, the docile and warm nature of it is a treat, the characters are all likeable, the character design is well done with nice vibrant colours help make the characters stand out as individuals, but, to be honest, if you asked me what made me like this series as much as I did, I wouldn't be able to tell you, perhaps is just resembles a better world. I recommend this series very highly, it is a personal favourite, from what I can tell it is somewhat overlooked, which is a shame because it is such a wonderful series, I recommend all give this series a try, I don't expect everyone to like it, but you may be surprised by just how much you do.

3. Dreamer

A PC hentai game which was turned to a PSX dating game (because of fans ^^) and that turned into a show that has a Dreamcast videogame now called Comic Party. First of all this is a high school romance, explaining the daily school life of Japanese high school students. Our heroine Akari has a strong crush on her neighbor and childhood friend Hiroyuki (now, how many times I see this repeated?) who is totally an indifferent and lazy guy, showing nothing very romantic in return. It just annoys me how could a lazy guy like him be good at sports and popular among girls. Anyway, the show is nice but don't expect something action-filled or adventurous. If you want to see something very peaceful and increase your knowledge in Japanese culture then go ahead and even if not, try a little change and you will love this. The anime is well done and some of the music tracks are nice. The voice acting is well done but it me it could have been better. The ending has not impressed me that much but still it's good.

2. Jeneki

I found it impossible to dislike anything about To Heart. The entire show has such a positive outlook on life that I couldn't help but smile through the whole thing. After watching a few episodes, World War III could start outside my house and I'd be too mellow to notice. You won't find a lot of action in this title, nor much conflict between characters. What you will find is an uplifting story and likable characters. To Heart does require some patience, as the plot develops very slowly at times.

Every once in a while an anime comes along that I really love, but that I find impossible to explain my love for. To Heart is one of those titles for me. A slowly paced romantic drama, To Heart hooked me pretty fast, and with no real explanation for why. My only thought is that watching these likable characters go about their daily lives in some way struck some deep emotion that I had lost somewhere. I liked it a lot, and I have no real explanation for why.
