Vampire Hunter D is a great Vampire Classic. It has
all the essences of a classic vampiric story. There's action, there's romance,
it's dark, there's horror. The movie's plot takes place in the far future were
the world is mixed with futurist and the old west/victorian sitting. Where demons
and vampires have covered the world in darkness. A country girl named Doris gets
bit by Count Lee. She gets help from this dark mysterious quiet dunpiel hunter,
a vampire hunter named D. While rescuing Doris several times she falls in love
with D. He pushes her away, because of his mysterious strong bloodlust.
The
plot is interesting and full of mystery on this one hunter. It is a serious movie,
but there are parts where it lighten up by D's annoying talkative hand. I found
nothing boring about the movie. I found it quite interesting that the Son of Dracula
is a vampire hunter, instead of Van Helsing. The only thing I hated about the
movie, that in some parts it was TOO dark that you couldn't see what was happening
in the background (when you knew that something was there,) but other than that
the movie is a must see.
I could not write a negative review of Vampire Hunter D,
no matter how hard I tried, and realized with a good amount of surprise that I
like it. It's dated and quite laughable at times, but it's a damn fun little flick.
Vampire Hunter D is the kid on the playground you always made fun of, but
really loved on the inside.
Vampire Hunter D is one of the anime classics that came
out in the 80's, and it is played on television often enough that many non-anime
lovers have become fond of it as well. The stories unfolds as a young woman named
Doris gets bitten by the Count, and happens upon a vampire hunter who goes by
the name of 'D' and pleads for his help. D kicks so much ass, he's certainly one
of the coolest male roles in all of anime. The violence factor on this is pretty
high, and there is some moderate nudity as well, both of which make this a must
see!
