2. Tyrenol

Four ladies with short skirts that name themselves after card symbols and use their powers to fight bad guys and chess pieces that run amuck. I hear complaints on how empty this type of show is; when it's really just good, senseless fun. This is one of the shows where the infamous Apollo Smile (who did the dub VA of Coco Hearts) can be heard. I'm just glad that this is the era where voice actors/actresses need to shut up and just voice-act.

1. Jeneki

One day a big chess piece shows up to trash the city, four superheroines based on the four suits of cards show up to fight it, a big battle ensues, and that's about it. Unfortunately, there is nothing more to say about the plot in Wild Cardz. We're given no background on the heroines, other than they're all fanatical defenders of their country. Even fighting game anime try to provide a minimal weak plot on why characters are fighting, but Wild Cardz doesn't even reach this level. There isn't enough zaniness or jokes to make the show entertaining as a parody either. The character designs aren't very attractive, and animation is about average for an OAV. Stay away from this one.
