This Ugly and Beautiful World
(Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai) A mysterious object from space splits in two and crashes down on Earth. Taking up human forms, Hikari and Akari are taken in by the youngsters Takeru, Ryou, and their friends. Takeru discovers hidden powers in himself resulting from his desire to protect the girls, but most of the time the days are spent peacefully with the whole gang enjoying life with their two new cute friends.

Featuring the grouchy Hachimaki who one day hopes to become the proud owner of his own space ship, the young and idealistic Ai, and a colorful ensemble of outcasts.

Gunslinger Girl
A secret Italian government organization takes seriously injured girls, patch them up with artificial body parts, and "conditions" them to be assassins. Each girl is paired with an older man, and they work together as a "fratello" - a brother-sister unit. This moody show takes a look at these girls, and their different relationships with their supervisors. The focus is on Henrietta who is the least conditioned and the one who ponders the most about her newly given life.

Shiki slowly begins to remember his past, as he uncovers the Tohno secrets, and comes to grip with his fearsome powers. After killing the attractive vampire Arcueid, she resurrects and asks him to aid her in her hunt for other vampires.
